It is company-wide policy that if you call a store with their sku (or inventory) number for an item you found at another ROSS store in order to buy more of the same, the employees are under strict instructions NOT TO HELP YOU IN ANY WAY OVER THE PHONE by checking the racks to see if they have one in stock. Under no circumstances will they walk over to racks and check for you, even if you offer to call back in several hours when they are not so busy.
The staff give many excuses, but in the end, when pressed, they give the store policy as the reason they will not help you out at all. Never dealt with a retail chain that had this policy of being told not to be helpful to customers in this way.
